Why Yerevan, Armenia?

Armenia stands at the crossroads of Europe and Asia and has played a role since man has recorded history.  Armenia has waxed and waned for centuries whether a vast Kingdom from the Mediterranean Sea to the Caspian Sea or under the yoke of the Roman Empire, Persians, Russians. or the Ottoman Empire.  Armenia became an independent nation once again in 1991 after it gained its freedom from the Soviet Union.

Today, The Republic of Armenia is a compact yet dynamic country of three million.  This mountainous nation is replete with ancient stone monasteries, intriguing Soviet monuments, and stunning nature.
